I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
I matriculated from Settlers High School after which I did my undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town. I completed my Honours Degree at the University of Port Elizabeth. My Master’s Degree was completed at the University of the Western Cape and my internship at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital, Mitchells Plain.
I started my private practice in 1992 and for the past nearly 20 years I have been working with people experiencing challenges of various kinds in their lives. In 1995 I co-founded with Mandy Knaap, the Blaauwberg Therapy Centre, a multidisciplinary centre where paramedical professionals could find a home and work together as a team.
My practice has become known for working holistically with children and families. I see individual adults and do supervision for mental health professionals. I am an accredited FAMAC mediator. I have a special interest in working with families in distress. I work from a narrative perspective and have been trained to use various therapeutic modalities. I hold the belief that the correct choice of treatment modality for each individual is essential to ensure a good response to the intervention.
I work closely with my 4 associates who will introduce themselves below.

“All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am

When you've got no one to tell them to...” Phil Hanseroth

My name is Natasha Kritzas. I am a registered Counseling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (qualified in 2003). I enjoy working with people of all ages, as well as with couples and families.
My mostly Narrative approach to therapy is focused on having conversations with teenagers and adults about their lives and the circumstances they find themselves in. I love working collaboratively with my clients in attempting to make sense of their lives. I mostly engage in Play Therapy with my child clients as I believe that through their play, they can express themselves.
I enjoy working with a wide range of psychological challenges. I make appropriate referrals to other mental health professionals in instances where I feel that a client would benefit more. I believe in a multi-disciplinary approach working collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and schools. I am a FAMAC accredited mediator.

I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life. I treat every therapeutic intervention in a unique manner & adapt my approach to accommodate the needs of the individual who is seeking professional help. I am energetic in my approach to therapy and I aim to create an environment for my clients where they feel free to express themselves, explore exciting possibilities & create solutions together which will bring about the change that they would like to see in their lives.
I employ person-centred principles in combination with Narrative therapy. I work with adults, adolescents & children (emotional & scholastic assessments & play therapy) who have experienced difficulties with adjustment, stress, divorce, trauma, depression, anxiety and difficulties in their relationship with food and eating.
I enjoy working with families as I believe that it is often necessary to address the system that an individual functions within as a means of reaching desired outcomes in therapy. I am a FAMAC accredited mediator.
