John Mocke is included in "The Dictionary of SA Painters
& Sculptors" By Grania Ogilvie

Mocke is a graduate of the Michaelis Art School, University
of Cape Town. He also furthered his studies and achieved the
"Higher Diploma in Graphic Design" at the Cape Technicon.
He was an art teacher at Grey High School P. E, and Senior Lecturer
in Graphic Design at the Cape Technicon for 21 years. He is
currently the Moderator for Graphic Design Students from the
Peninsula Technicon, for theory examinations.
Mocke paints portrait studies, figure compositions, African
compositions, and other genre, mostly in oils, but also in other
mediums. His paintings have become popular and have been on
exhibitions. He resides in Table View, Cape Town, where he devotes
his time to painting.
