Pat came to South Africa in 1977 from England, intending to work for two years and go home - but she never returned to the U.K. and she has now lived in Cape Town for the last twenty five years.

Although it is only in the last two years that Pat has gone into watercolours seriously she has always been creative and been involved with many hobbies. Her discovery of an ability to paint came as somewhat of a surprise while she was "playing" with her son's paints. This was four years ago and now she concentrates solely on this medium and particularly loves the Cape Town scenery as her subject - hence her paintings are in homes throughout the world.

The demand for her artwork soon began to grow and Pat resigned from her career at the beginning of last year to become a full time artist. She works from her home in Melkbosstrand where she lives with her husband and two children.
