Stef Terblanche lives in Table View, Cape Town where he divides his time between painting and writing, working also as a freelance journalist and researcher/analyst.

Stef has mainly been self taught, painting since childhood, but started painting seriously in 1996, mainly oil on canvas. He trained briefly under the artists Erik Laubscher at the Ruth Prowse Art School in Woodstock, Cape Town.

Awards
Best Work in Oil Award for "Vissershok Pad", "Water By Leeu Gamka" and Cola Winter, Graaf Reinet" at New Signatures Exhibition, Cape Town 1997;
Merit prize for "Keb Mo" at New Signatures Exhibition, Cape Town 1996.

His paintings have been bought by private and corporate collectors in South Africa, Europe and the United States.
